Founded in 2003 in Zhuzhou, China’s hometown of cemented carbide, ZZSINO is a customer-oriented manufacturer focused on the R&D, production and sales of customized tungsten carbide high precision products used in the industries of general machinery, oil&gas exploitation, mining, electronics, wood&paper cutting, tobacco, communications etc….

A Glance of Our Work

At the beginning WC, Co and doping elements are mixed according to special recipes. A particular combination of carbide and binder is termed a “grade”. Common doping elements are Ta&Nb, giving high temperature properties to the carbide, V&Cr, curbing grain growth during sintering process. This mixture is ball-milled for several hours with alcohol, in order to obtain an outstanding homogenous distribution of carbide grains of a specific grade powder.
The ball-milled liquid is pumped into a spray tower and then spray dried in a nitrogen atmosphere, in order to guarantee the flowability of the RTP powder.
There are three popular pressing methods, which are direct pressing, CIP pressing and extrusion. Direct pressing is applied to most of carbide products which are simple and fix-shaped. By direct pressing, the powder fills the die body and then directly pressed in a tooling. The tooling consists of a die body, upper punch and lower punch.
At the beginning of sintering process, the residual plasticizers evaporate during the dewaxing process. After further heating, the Co melts at about 1380°C and flows into the free spaces between the WC grains. Through the hot-isostatic process, the remaining porosity is removed and the product subsequently cooled. The cemented carbide products lose up to 25% in volume during the whole Sinter-HIP process.
After passing rigorous inspection, the sintered products are either stocked in the warehouse or refined in centerless-grinding workshop for cutting grinding, polishing, chamfering, sharpening or slotting.
