Due to its low density, better wear and corrosion resistance, cermet is gradually, in specific conditions, taking the place of tungsten carbide in saw tips and other brazed tools, shims, round tools and wear parts. When used as cutting tools, cermet presents longer lifetime for semi-finish and finish machining at small and medium cutting speed due to its superior wear resistance ability. Moreover, because of its high temperature property, abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance, cermet is more and more widely used as an ideal material for high-temperature part in petrochemical industry and measuring tools.
